Top 5 Must-Have Rivian Accessories You Need on Day One

So you finally got your Rivian, or maybe your delivery day is coming up soon. The first big question is always the same: what accessories do you actually need on day one?

After owning two Rivians myself, I’ve learned which upgrades make the biggest difference and which ones aren’t really worth the hype. To save you the trial and error, here are the five accessories I recommend grabbing right away.

1. USB-C Flash Drive for Gear Guard and Dashcam

This one should honestly come standard, but it doesn’t. Without a USB-C flash drive, Rivian’s security system and dashcam can’t save any video. That means road cam clips, dash recordings, or even someone messing with your truck won’t be stored.

I use a Samsung USB-C flash drive because it’s reliable and affordable. The 256GB option is plenty for most people, but if you like extra peace of mind, go with 512GB. Trust me, you don’t want to find out you missed important footage because you didn’t have one.

2. Charging Adapter

If you’re planning on road trips, this is essential. Charging stations are still in the middle of the whole CCS to NACS transition, and not every station will have the plug your Rivian needs. Without an adapter, you could pull up to a charger and be stuck.

The adapter I recommend is from A2Z. It feels really solid, even sturdier than Rivian’s own version. Whether you’ve got the CCS port or the new NACS port, having the right adapter gives you way more charging options and makes traveling a lot less stressful.

3. All-Weather Floor Mats

Rivian’s stock mats look nice but that’s about it. They don’t do much to catch dirt, sand, snow, or crumbs. If you’re like me and want to keep things clean, you’ll want something better right away.

I went with LASFIT all-weather mats. They’ve got deeper grooves and higher edges, which means the mess actually stays on the mat instead of spilling over. They even make a trunk mat and backrest mats for the R1S, which Rivian doesn’t offer. It’s one of those small upgrades that makes a big difference every single day.

4. TWRAPS Dual MagSafe Charging Pad

If you’ve tried Rivian’s wireless charger, you know the struggle. My phone constantly slid around, and charging would cut in and out, especially on rough roads. It drove me nuts.

The TWRAPS dual MagSafe charging pad fixes that. The magnets hold your phone in place so it charges consistently, and it even has room for a second device like AirPods. Until Rivian updates their own charging mat, this is the best fix out there.

5. Dyson Stick Vacuum

This one is especially for anyone with kids or pets. Between dirt, crumbs, and dog hair, things add up fast inside your Rivian. I use a Dyson cordless stick vacuum with a flexible extension hose so I can reach all the tight spots.
